The aim of this project was to explore how online learning might support the development of English language skills for students in a developing country (Cambodia).

Phase 1 – Analysis

Discussions with Cambodian teachers revealed that online learning was not offered to university students in Cambodia. However, they were interested in exploring how an online learning environment might support student English language skills. Students completed a short questionnaire before undertaking the online course to identify their current level of knowledge about online technologies and online learning.

Phase 2 – Design & develop
Students in a developing country (Cambodia) were provided with the opportunity to experience online learning for the first time using a Moodle learning management system (LMS).
Phase 3 – Implement & evaluate.
  • 1st iteration 2014 – Online course (Private Moodle LMS not open to the public)
